Well, now that we finally have our house I've still got this strange feeling that we don't really own anything at all, we're just renting it from the mortgage company. For a lot of money. Only now they got us to pay for water. And insurance. But at least it's rent-to-own, assuming I'm still alive in 30 years.
Even though we've been weeding the lawn and painting rooms like crazy, it still doesn't totally feel like ours. It just feels like we're doing an incredibly huge amount of work at an extremely poor wage. Like we're paying somebody to let us do all this work.
But things are coming along. People keep telling us we don't need to do things, which is weird. Like the electrician. Even though there's good money to be made on his end, he says the knob & tube wiring isn't bad, that he was expecting a lot worse, but that most of it's been updated.
In other news, based on the past week's results, we've calculated our crab-apple tree drops approximately one apple every thirty minutes. I don't know why anyone but us would find that interesting, but there it is.
